Food Waste Friday | No Power Edition

Ok, I have power, but The Frugal Girl, who hosts Food Waste Friday doesn't, so No FWF. I am still posting, though.

What I did to minimize waste:
There wasn't much that was in danger of being wasted, but I did change a meal to include a bunch of broccoli. For the record, PF Chang's copycat Mongolian Beef with chicken instead of beef and a metric ton of broccoli thrown in is really good.

There are some leftover grilled vegetables that I am going to chop in the food processor and add to the spaghetti sauce that is in the crockpot right now.

Waste:
I was sick all week and on some pretty heavy duty pain/stoopid pills for a part of it, and the waste was all a result of that.
~ Ethan threw away some cut potatoes that were in the fridge because they "looked funny." There was nothing wrong with them, but I didn't catch him in time.
~ I made a big batch of spaghetti sauce and after it cooled a bit I put it in to a container to freeze. For some reason (stoopid pills, perhaps?) I left it on the counter.

That's it. Not too bad, but more than I wanted.

I want to do more fall decorating other than halloween but zach's been asking when are we decorating for halloween? LOL but I'm not giving candy out this year sooo lol need to find a nifty looking scarecrow or two for the porch....I think I should have been an autumn baby because I love this time of year sooo much--I bet it is more "fall like" up north/farther east....would love to spend one fall up around the NE area of the country-bet that would be heaven.....oooh cider sounds good....
